Our educational workshops move between ancient knowledge and the magic of words, fantasy as a field to cultivate, fairy tales and theater to learn to fly.
Herb of Fear Laboratory
Experiential Laboratory.
Students who choose this workshop will learn an old remedy of the Tuscan and Cerreto tradition, used since ancient times to remove "the Fear".
The herb of Fear is a plant that grew wild in our territory and used in the folk tradition to remove fears and frights. The workshop also includes a practical demonstration of how to obtain the water needed for washing and how to carry out the washing itself.
The "Herb of Fear" workshop can be associated with a guided tour: Guided tour inside the convent and in its undergrounds
The boys who choose this workshop will be transported to another era, marked by the observance of the rules of the order, alternating between prayer, work, assistance to the needy and pilgrims, study and silence.
In specially prepared rooms, visitors will be able to handle, with the help of one of our operators, the typical tools used by the friars for the preparation of medicines. This will also be linked to an in-depth study of burials, funeral ceremonies and even those specific treatments that were reserved for the dead of unusual death.

Laboratory Stones and healing herbs
Students who choose this workshop will be transported to the Middle Ages, between Herbalism and Ritual. They will learn about the use that was made at that time of plants, herbs and stones both for curative purposes and for healing rituals.
The focus will be on plants typical of our countryside, which were used, especially by our grandmothers within the family.
A journey into another era with a mysterious and fascinating flavor.

Manual for fantasy
With this workshop we experiment with the knowledge and functions related to imagination, imagination as a path to be educated and not as a simple innate talent.
The change of color, volume, function, matter, space, time, are some of the functions proposed to invent and imagine a modified reality: transformed objects, fairy-tale suggestions, paintings.

From fairytale to theater
The languages of theater, such as non-verbal language, verbal, space, voice, music, costumes.
A simple way to experience the complexity of theater, and its socializing, educational values, taking as a pretext the fairy tales to "tell" their possible theatrical transcription. A small taste, a window on this fascinating world.
During the activity, children will be presented with small theatrical pieces interspersed with a dialogue with the young spectators who are sometimes called upon to help the storyteller. A fresh and fun meeting that leaves the small input to take to school.

Words in play
How can we learn to write a fairy tale or nursery rhyme ? What do some symbolic figures in fairy tales mean? What is a rhyme? How is a fairy tale told?
In this workshop, the children meet a book writer who will propose a series of suggestions and games to understand the mechanisms behind the writing of a fairy tale.
The children watch and are asked to collaborate with the animator to invent little fantastic tales and nursery rhymes. Playing with words is a way to involve children in this creative process.

Games of popular tradition
The aim of the workshop is to let children experience and learn about the simplicity of playing at home, in the square and with friends, the richness and variety of games that have always accompanied the harmonious development of the relationship between body and mind.
The game, in pedagogy, has two dialectical but contrasting aspects, the principle of adaptation and overcoming reality, so learning to play is the best technique to become smart kids!
Alessandro Gigli, author of the book Scuola Ludens, 150 games for schools and children's communities, proposes with this workshop to show, tell and make children play by revealing the structures of the game and its playful dynamics.

Here is the story of Pinocchio
The workshop is a continuous interchange between passages narrated from the original text of the Adventures of Pinocchio with explanatory didactic ideas, but always proposed in a playful way, which are implied in this story. So you can discover the colors, animals, fears and many other things still present in this masterpiece.
All this will begin with a quiz with prizes or unusual questions or extremely trivial, such as what color was the black beard of Mangiafoco ......black as a scribble of ink, this allows you to enter slowly in the narrative and its secrets.

The most beautiful fairy tales of the world
Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel are the pretext to tell and reveal the secrets, the structure, the meanings hidden between the lines and words of these four fairy tales. Popular culture and traditions, storytelling, the art of storytelling can be other educational suggestions to be developed during the workshop.
A meeting that alternates between the theatrical aspect (with its materials scenic materials) and fun, to moments of analysis of the text and comparisons with other comparisons with other fairy tales already known.
