The Girasole cooperative collaborates, organizes and promotes events and initiatives in the territory and inside the Convent of the Augustinians and the Museum of Sacred Art of Certaldo.
Fantasia festival
The Fantàsia festival is one of the most original and interesting experiences that takes place in the historical garden of Gambassi Terme.
The Cooperative has conceived a festival for families and children using the garden as a natural stage for animations, shows, handcrafts, workshops and installations directed to children to promote sociality, creativity and fantasy.
Prex et Venena
Prex et Venena, instead, is the last project realized in the Romanesque cloister of the convent. It is an exhibition dedicated to medicinal plants, thus citing the garden of the simple and the cures used by the monks of the convents and monasteries. A section of the exhibition has been dedicated to all those plants mentioned in the Gospel alluding to a cure not only of the body, but also of the spirit, another section is dedicated to a simple and natural handcraft.
Theater and sprizt
Theater and spritz is a format of theater and music that takes place in the late afternoon, artistic interventions of 20-30 minutes and followed by an aperitif in the cloister, in 2021 took place the first edition entitled "The impossible interviews" by the association Ipotesi Teatrale.
Roseto - market of roses
At the cloister of the Augustinians in May during the Marian month, in full bloom of roses, a mystical flower linked to the figure of Mary.
In the cloister blossom colors and fragrances accompanied by music, poems, and paintings.
Sacred Representation
For the Holy Christmas, are exposed every year small cribs made by school children, using the most disparate materials, with a lot of imagination and recycling and perhaps with the help of parents... In the adjacent underground a theatrical representation inspired by the Nativity.
Underground events
The same basements that during the Mercantia festival host the "Secret Gardens", are also the location for theatrical performances such as the "Simona Bucci Company" or the storytellers Alessandro Gigli and Lucia Osellieri.
