The Girasole Cooperative
was born in 1999 in Certaldo from the enthusiasm of a group of young tour operators who decided to join together to start a new experience in tourism and culture.
Our history
As its first assignment, it takes over the management of the tourist information offices of the municipalities of Certaldo and Montaione, to which it immediately adds the enhancement of the Sacred Mount of San Vivaldo. Integrating a function of pure information management with a more proactive one of valorization and marketing of the territory.
The success and the experience gained also allowed her to take over the management of the Boccaccio House Museum from 2000 to 2005. In these years she has been involved in the tourist-didactic promotion of the place as well as taking part in the organization of exhibitions and conferences promoted by the Ente Nazionale Giovanni Boccaccio.
In 2008 she was appointed by the Associazione Unione Fiorentina to manage the ticket office, the bookshop as well as the promotion and didactic-tourist marketing of the Casa di Dante museum in Florence. In the twelve years of this management she was also responsible for the elaboration of didactic proposals that ranged from workshops, themed tours and guided visits.
Since 2010, it has been managing the Convent of the Augustinians for the Propositura di San Tommaso Apostolo of Certaldo, taking care of its marketing, events, conventions and conferences, relations with schools through educational activities, animations in the village. These skills allow to plan initiatives in the territory.
The cooperative has designed and organized the Fantàsia festival, which takes place now since 2016.
The event is open to all and hosts shows, games, installations, animations and fantasy market.
Augustinian Convent
It is located in the heart of the medieval village of Certaldo and is part of the complex of the Rectory of Saints Jacopo and Filippo which also includes the Romanesque cloister, the garden and the undergrounds. The Convent overlooks a small square, once the cemetery of the convent itself.
Fantasia festival
The Fantàsia festival is one of the most original experiences that takes place in the historical garden of Gambassi Terme ! The Girasole Cooperative has created the festival which is a unique and original experience designed for children and their families.
